It is all the new rage that before your first baby arrives, before closing the chapter of being married without children, a couple is supposed to go on a 'Babymoon' as a final hoorah and celebration of moving to a new phase of life. It has been suggested that it is something you do during your second trimester--I now understand why. At 36 weeks pregnant, Clint and I set off on our weekend getaway to Boston and Maine over the 4th of July weekend. We had a blast, but I must admit my ability to walk very far was a bit hindered and poor Clint had to keep tabs on the closest bathroom. Nonetheless, we had a great time driving up the coast of Maine and observing the charming coastal towns, eating lobster and getting a good taste of a New England Summer. Here are a few things we saw...
Lighthouses of Maine. This one sat on its own little island and was only accessible by boat.
One walk was cut short but a thunderstorm. But we all know how the saying goes that after the storms of life always come the rainbows
We celebrated the 4th of July by touring some of the historical sites around Boston including Lexington and Minuteman National Park. The North Bridge was where the first shot was fired in the Revolution known as "The shot heard 'round the world!" (sorry about the nerdy prego sneakers, they felt better than flip flops)
