One of David's favorite books is a book he got from his cousins. "No, David!" The book starts off by saying,
"David's Mom always says...no, no, no!"
Now whenever Daddy asks David what mom says he always shouts out "No, No!" Oh great, now I am dubbed the mom that always says NO. Well today certainly felt like one of those days. Before having kids you read all of the literature that says, you should not say the word 'no' but look for alternative ways to get your point across. Sorry, but that did not happen today. Maybe I am not patient enough or not creative enough in my responses. But today NO meant NO.
-No David, don't run into the street
-No David, don't sit in that puddle of water
-No David, you can't have marshmallows for lunch
-No David, stay away from that retaining wall
-No David your blanket and binky go in your crib
-No David, don't bite mommy
but the best part of the day...As I read him stories and tucked him in, he opened his mouth to give me a big slobbery kiss and I said, "Yes David, I love you!"
When I ask him 'David, what does daddy always say?' He replies, "No! No!" At least it is comforting to know I am not the only one!
