I'm Two

David just turned 2 and it is hard to believe. We had a great celebration filled with all of his favorite things...cupcakes, a morning at the 'baby pool' with friends, a party with mommy and daddy at night and of course a fire engine cake. The boy is obsessed with trucks and so we knew we could not go wrong.

Some of David's Stats:

-31 pounds, 34 3/4 inches tall

-loves to eat hot dogs, chicken nuggets, green beans, grapes, hummus, fruit snacks, waffles, pretzels (he must be holding 2), milk, grandma's bran muffins, and of course ANY Mars product. Sugar can't be helped, his dad works for a candy company :)

-He LOVES swimming and will jump off the wall to mom and dad, blow bubbles, dunk under water, and he even shimmies along the wall to the steps (under mom's supervision)

-Trucks, trucks and more trucks. It is often his first word out of bed and he must know where his bulldozer and 'nee-nee' (fire) truck are at all times. He is sure to point out every truck/van/bus or bulldozer along the road while driving.

-Still loves his 'beechoo' (binkie) and blanket. We are hoping those go away soon.

-Loves to read books: favorites are the Curious George series, 'Where's Mommy?', Runaway Bunny, Things that Go, and of course the No, David books.

-His new night routine includes reading books, rocking with mommy or daddy with the lights off while they scratch his back. When we lay him in his crib he will lift up the shirt on his back and say 'scratch' and then say 'temple' meaning he wants us to sing the temple song. It is a long process, but it is sweet and I can't resist!

-He talks up a storm. Most of the time I understand but other moments I give it my best guess. Favorite words....Bulldoze, fruit 'nack, beep beep, daddy car, Thomas (the train), I need.....

-He is a busy boy but we love him to death

I felt inspired by an online how-to video and decided to test out my cake decorating skills. I figured better now when my son is too young to really care what it looks like!

Needless to say, HE LOVED IT.

Happy Birthday Sweet Boy. We love you but aren't ready for the terrible two's!
